A 60-year-old patient fell down a 10-meter ladder. Initial scan showed pulse 58 beats per minute and BP 101/67. I have started taking the AMPLE record. Which part of the AMPLE is most important to this particular patient?

الإجابة: A. Medications
An elderly patient after a major fall has a pulse of 58 with borderline BP. That is an inappropriately low heart rate for trauma, which suggests drugs such as beta-blockers are masking the tachycardic response to blood loss. So Medications is the key part of AMPLE here. Elderly hypertensives may also look 'normotensive' while in shock. Allergy, past diabetes and the event details do not explain the missing tachycardia.
