الإجابة: D. Propranolol
Thyrotoxicosis with a small, non-tender gland and a low radioactive iodine uptake means the hormone is leaking from a damaged gland (thyroiditis), not being overproduced. Treatment is therefore symptomatic with a beta-blocker (propranolol).
- Propylthiouracil, radioiodine ablation and thyroidectomy all treat overproduction (Graves, toxic nodules), which a low uptake excludes.
