Transient monocular visual loss for 10 minutes is amaurosis fugax = TIA. Disposition depends on stroke-risk stratification (ABCD2): low-risk patients are started on antiplatelet (aspirin) and get outpatient work-up, while high-risk patients (ABCD2 >4 or recurrent TIAs) are admitted.
- The stem gives no age, BP or diabetes, and isolated visual loss for 10 min scores low, so discharge on aspirin fits best. Admission (D) is right only if the patient is high risk.
- Anticoagulation/warfarin (B, C) is not indicated without a cardioembolic source such as AF.
