الإجابة: B. Glitazone

✓ مطابق للمصدر (Y4)-(M B) HF.pdf · p. 6

Thiazolidinediones (pioglitazone/rosiglitazone) cause fluid retention and are on the list of drugs to avoid in heart failure, so the glitazone must be stopped once CHF is diagnosed. The cohort's HF lecture and the Ninja Nerd DM slides both say to avoid TZDs in CHF. Metformin is only cautioned in HF with renal dysfunction (lactic acidosis), and is not the drug that must be withdrawn here.

ليش كل خيار صح أو غلط

  • A ليش غلط

Metformin is not on the HF lecture's list of medications to avoid in heart failure; the diabetes drug on that list is the thiazolidinedione.

    ✓ (Y4)-(M B) HF.pdf · p. 6
  • B ليش صح

The HF lecture's list of medications to avoid in heart failure includes thiazolidinediones (e.g. pioglitazone), so the glitazone must be stopped.

    ✓ (Y4)-(M B) HF.pdf · p. 6
  • C ليش غلط

Gliclazide is a sulfonylurea; this class is listed with weight gain and hypoglycaemia, and the table gives it no heart-failure warning.

    ✓ RT - DM.pdf · p. 10
  • E ليش غلط

The RT table says DPP-4 inhibitors such as sitagliptin are only not preferred in HF patients, a caution rather than a drug that must be stopped.
