الإجابة: C. Lateral decubitus Chest X ray showing lobulated effusion

✓ مطابق للمصدر Pulmonology 🫁.pdf · p. 20

Bedside (blind) thoracentesis is done only when the fluid is >1 cm and free-flowing (not loculated). A loculated/lobulated effusion needs image-guided or tube/surgical drainage, so it is the contraindication here. A fluid height >1 cm (B) is actually the requirement for a safe tap; mild anaemia, fever and inability to lie flat do not prevent it.

ليش كل خيار صح أو غلط

  • B ليش غلط

Fluid more than 1 cm deep is what makes a bedside tap feasible; the listed contraindication is fluid less than 1 cm.

  • C ليش صح

Thoracentesis is done when the fluid is bigger than 1 cm and not loculated (lobulated); a lobulated effusion therefore contraindicates a bedside tap.
