An infected wound that is opened and drained and then closed a week later heals by delayed primary closure. The cohort notes define tertiary intention as the same thing ("also called delayed primary"), so options C and D describe one process. C is the conventional term and the bank key. Primary intention means immediate closure. Secondary intention means the wound is never closed.
