الإجابة: B. Cefazolin

✓ مطابق للمصدر Post-operative complications.pdf · p. 17

Hip replacement is a clean operation, but insertion of a prosthesis is an indication for prophylactic antibiotics. The recommended prophylaxis is a single dose of a 1st (or 2nd) generation cephalosporin 30-60 minutes before incision, i.e. cefazolin, which covers the skin flora (Staph. aureus/epidermidis).

  • Metronidazole covers anaerobes (colorectal), not skin flora.
  • Amoxicillin and clarithromycin are not standard surgical prophylaxis agents.
