الإجابة: B. Keep the patient in the hospital and order Duplex ultrasound

✓ مطابق للمصدر Peripheral Vascular Diseases (PVD).pdf · p. 7

New unilateral leg swelling on post-op day 5 after a pelvic cancer resection is a DVT until proven otherwise, even if painless and with good pulses (pulses are present in DVT). Keep the patient and get a venous duplex ultrasound.

  • CT venography is used only if duplex is inconclusive.
  • CT angiogram assesses arteries.
  • Discharging the patient or giving physiotherapy alone misses a possible DVT.
