الإجابة: A. Begin IV fluid resuscitation

After analgesia, the key next step in acute pancreatitis is IV fluid resuscitation, started as soon as the diagnosis is suspected. Prophylactic antibiotics are not recommended, and a CT is not routinely needed when lipase and the clinical picture already confirm the diagnosis. An ultrasound to look for gallstones is done but does not come before resuscitation.
