الإجابة: C. Start her on intravenous phenytoin

✓ مطابق للمصدر Neurology 🧠.pdf · p. 13

A second seizure with no recovery of consciousness in between (still unconscious with ongoing facial twitching) is status epilepticus. Benzodiazepines have already been given, so the next step is an IV antiepileptic load (phenytoin/fosphenytoin).

  • Oral phenytoin is too slow for an emergency.
  • CT and EEG are part of the work-up, but the seizure must be aborted first.
  • Waiting for another seizure ignores the ongoing status.
