الإجابة: A. Absence Seizure
Multiple daily, brief staring spells with unresponsiveness, no abnormal movements, a normal exam and falling school performance in an adolescent are classic absence (petit mal) seizures - they can occur up to 100 times a day with no postictal state. A focal (complex partial) seizure lasts minutes with automatisms and postictal confusion; syncope involves loss of postural tone.
