الإجابة: A. Vaso-occlusive crisis

✓ مطابق للمصدر Hematology🩸.pdf · p. 19

Acute bone pain in the hands and legs after a trigger such as dehydration is a vaso-occlusive (pain) crisis: sickled cells obstruct the microcirculation and cause ischaemia. Low Hb with a high reticulocyte count is the usual chronic haemolytic baseline in SCD.

  • An aplastic crisis would show a low reticulocyte count (e.g. parvovirus B19).
  • Splenic sequestration presents with an enlarging spleen and hypovolaemic shock, not limb pain.
