الإجابة: C. Disease modifying drugs
After the acute relapse is treated (high-dose steroids, plasmapheresis if steroids fail), long-term management of relapsing MS aims to prevent further relapses with disease-modifying drugs such as interferon-beta and glatiramer acetate. Long-term corticosteroids are tempting but do not alter long-term outcome and cause serious adverse effects, so they should be avoided. Plasmapheresis is a second-line acute treatment, not maintenance.
