الإجابة: A. Blood pH

During DKA treatment you follow glucose, electrolytes and the anion gap, and you also monitor blood pH (ABG) to track the acidosis and decide whether bicarbonate is needed (pH < 7). Hourly LFTs and hourly phosphorus are not part of routine DKA monitoring. Urine ketones lag behind the clinical picture.

ليش كل خيار صح أو غلط

  • A ليش صح

DKA monitoring includes the pH, to see whether it falls below 7, which is the indication for bicarbonate.

    ✓ 11• Diabetes Mellitus [Notes].pdf · p. 11
  • E ليش غلط

Nitroprusside ketone tests detect only acetoacetate, so serum and urine can be falsely negative for ketones in DKA (e.g. with circulatory collapse), which makes urine ketones an unreliable guide.
