الإجابة: D. Left ventricular hypertrophy

✓ مطابق للمصدر Step Up To Medicine 6th (Hypertension).pdf · p. 1

An ECG is part of the routine work-up of hypertension to look for target-organ damage, and the cardiac target-organ effect of chronic HTN is left ventricular hypertrophy (raised afterload causes concentric LVH). She has no chest pain or other features suggesting acute ischaemia, pericarditis or mitral prolapse.

ليش كل خيار صح أو غلط

  • A ليش غلط

Hypertension accelerates atherosclerosis and raises the incidence of CAD over time, but the characteristic cardiac effect of high afterload that the ECG looks for is concentric LVH.

  • D ليش صح

Increased systemic vascular resistance (afterload) in hypertension causes concentric left ventricular hypertrophy, which the ECG in the work-up looks for as target-organ damage.
