Anemia in an older man on NSAIDs: history, differentials and initial work-up

A 62-year-old man is referred to the medicine clinic because a routine blood test showed a low hemoglobin. He has felt increasingly tired for 3 months and gets short of breath climbing stairs. He takes ibuprofen most days for knee osteoarthritis.
